slade is born on the farming planet of CONCORD DAWN. as soon as he can, he joins the death watch, a faction of the civil war fighting for warriorlike conquest against the true mandalorians. there he meets ADELINE kane, a mandalorian obsessed with force power, who grooms him into a secret, underground military experiment secretly financed by the EMPEROR. soon after they are married and their first son grant is born, slade submits himself to the experiments.

slade is variously enhanced with cybernetic abilities, and his latent force powers come into fruition. because the force is shunned on mandalore, he never speaks of it, but adeline and the experimenters are both thrilled. however, with the scattering of the death watch, the experiment conditions are never replicated or recovered. when it scatters, slade reintegrates back into society rather than go into hiding.

JOSEPH, their second child, is force sensitive. the jedi, carrying influence on mandalore after their role in the civil war, take him back to the jedi temple. slade is not informed of it, as adeline sneaks him away in the middle of the night - adeline is ecstatic to have a force sensitive child, and can’t wait for him to be trained, though she is sure that slade would disagree. this causes a rift between them.

more and more days are spent away from MANDALORE, slade working on his bounty hunter abilities while adeline stays home with grant - something slade sees as her just reward for letting joseph go. he becomes a JEDI HUNTER, wearing his armor and taking a lightsaber as a trophy from a fallen jedi.

back home, grant, looking to be like his always absent father, gets addicted to SPICE. this kills him, and slade blames adeline, while adeline blames slade. the two of them have a fight which decimates their home, leaving slade with one less eye.

a year later, the emperor gives out ORDER 66, slaughtering all jedi. ANAKIN SKYWALKER becomes DARTH VADER, slaughtering the younglings in the temple. but one, formerly known as joseph wilson, survives with his throat cut just shallowly enough to live. found hiding in the temple by slade, he’s taken under slade’s wing as he believes that he can no longer trust him with adeline, and the life for a force sensitive child is extremely dangerous.

slade is an “old mandalorian” in the civil war, and goes into exile with adeline. most things stay the same - except slade rejoins death watch, working secret undercover missions for them and siding with bo katan when death watch split. when he had his final fight with adeline, he left to become a mercenary.

IT FELT AS IF ALL AIR HAD LEFT HER LUNGS, her stomach twisted and turned, her head spun -- she was caught off guard by such a painstakingly accurate question. who would love sansa stark? who would love the queen in the north? the answer to that was much simpler than what she was willing to admit. NO ONE.her family had left, her friends were gone, the only man she felt as if she loved was dead, everyone else she had ever cared for at some point was dead. for a moment she’s full of existential dread, hands gripping into a fist at her sides as she tries to calm herself with a shaken breath. 

she takes a moment to collect herself, blue eyes finally fighting to meet that of her companion. the queen of the north didn’t need anything but the approval of her people. she wanted to know they had full faith in her and wanted her to continue to rule over them. sansa didn’t want much else -- the last man she wanted burned after the battle of winterfell. though, not a soul knew this. many assumed, but no one knew for sure. her back straightens, eyes almost cold. her tone is full of ice, almost offended that the girl before her would ask the queen such a personal question. it felt like it was an intended attack at her involuntary solitude. her mouth purses slowly. ❝ i’ll love myself. it’s much more validating than anything a man could offer me or my kingdom. after all, men are nothing but disappointments. ❞  a lie. not all men were. but the ones she had been unfortunate enough to be betrothed too always seemed to be. she walks past the other at the conclusion of this statement though, in no way wanting to linger and chat. she had some self reflecting to do.
